MachineGames has released a full 15-minute deep dive into the upcoming Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. The game is expected to launch on 8 December for Xbox and PC. The latest video gives players a good look at what they will be experiencing when they jump into the adventure.
The video spans some exciting mechanics. There is a mixture of puzzle-solving, some stealth and of course, combat and traversal. We know Indiana Jones and The Great Circle has a large emphasis on puzzles and the whole “ancient tomb exploring” shenanigans. However, the latest video actually gives some much-needed attention to the hand-to-hand combat and the variety it offers.
Sure, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is a far step away from MachineGames’ Wolfenstein series so don’t expect the over-the-top FPS action here. Indiana can seemingly pull enemies toward him with his whip and knock them out at the same time.
Exploration also revolves around Indiana taking notes about symbols and other hints around an area and players can reference the journal to aid them in solving the puzzles. If you need a hint, you can then use an old-school camera to take photos of the puzzle and in turn, it provides possible solutions for it.
Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is expected to launch on 8 December. The game is scheduled to launch next year on PS5. It is one of Microsoft’s biggest first-party game launches for 2024. The company has released Hellblade II this year and plans to also release Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Of course, there was Black Ops 6 too. So after all that, Microsoft has had a good year for games despite laying off the majority of its Xbox Studios workforce throughout the year.
