WildBrain has announced that the first 22 seasons of the Pokemon series will get their own ad-supported FAST channel. The popular Canadian distributor says the channel will launch in the US first with Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and other regions following shortly.
This is big news for Pokemon fans as it means there will be a place to watch all 22 seasons of the show without having to search high and low to find each one. The Pokemon Company International says FAST TV is an ideal platform for the series as it connects audiences and offers an accessible way to consume content in a family-friendly environment.
If you don’t know what FAST TV is, it stands for Free Advertising-Supported Streaming Television. Essentially, supported streaming platforms host these shows and movies with no subscription costs. Users can enjoy the content but there are ads in-between episodes.
Up to now, the Pokemon TV app was sort of the best way to watch the show. However, earlier this year The Pokemon Company shut down the app leaving fans with no dedicated place to find the episodes. The show is also available through a number of other platforms such as Netflix but it has broken seasons and missing episodes.
Prime Video also has a few seasons of Pokemon including XY and Black and White. There are also some on Hulu and The Roku Channel, Tubi, Freevee and Happy Kids. However, these seasons are also broken and scattered across all different platforms.
Should the show arrive complete on FAST TV, it will contain all 22 seasons right from the first all the way up to Sun & Moon.
FAST TV plans to roll out the Pokemon series first on Tubi and Pluto TV. Both of which aren’t available in South Africa yet. However, we do have Plex so let’s hope the show arrives there at least. But if you’re in the US, you’ll be able to enjoy the show on Tubi and Pluto TV. You can, of course, use a VPN to access Tubi or Pluto. Considering there’s no purchase required, it will be easier.
In the meantime, you can find what seasons of Pokémon are available from where by using the guide on the official Pokemon website. Good luck though.
