Apple and PlayStation are offering PS5 users an extended free trial to Apple TV+. The extended trial offers 6 months of the Applke TV+ service to PS5 owners and 3 months to PS4 owners.
Unfortunately, those of you who have already taken advantage of the previous Apple TV+ trial on PS4 and PS5 back in 2022, won’t be able to take advantage of this. The current promotion only includes users who haven’t used a previous PlayStation trial to access Apple TV+.

If you have used the Apple TV+ trial with a new iOS device or the first sign-up promotion, this PS5 and PS4 trial will still work. It only won’t work if you have redeemed the previous console promotion or are currently subscribed to Apple One.
The current promotion ends on 31 July. I tested it this morning and while my original Apple ID didn’t work, because I used it on the PS5 before, I was able to use another account I had access to. All you need to do is the following:
- Find the Apple TV+ app on your PS4 or PS5 (under media on PS5 consoles)
- Download the app and sign-in
- Link your Apple ID to the app and agree to the terms and conditions
- The App will confirm when the first payment date is six months from today
Keep in mind that if you decide to carry on paying for Apple TV+ after the trial ends, it will cost you R124 a month.
While Apple TV+ does include some great shows, I still personally think the asking price is a little crazy for the selection of shows and movies on the platform. There are some gems on the service including Silo, See and Foundation. Later this year Napoleon is also set to debut.
