A Closer Look at The Hyrule Edition Nintendo Switch Lite

Nintendo has shared some new images for the upcoming The Hyrule Special Edition Nintendo Switch Lite console. The device is launching later this year alongside the recently-announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Nintendo announced the game during its feature-packed Direct stream this week where the company also showcased a new Mario & Luigi RPG, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and more.

This special edition console is limited to the Switch Lite and comes in a fancy gold-tinted colour. The buttons on the device are black and there’s a Triforce sign right under the right analogue stick. The real magic, however, is found on the back where you’ll spot the Hylian crest.

The gold colour is likely the best part about this handheld. It isn’t just an orange tint. Rather, the device boasts a metallic gold finish.

Nintendo is also bundling a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership with the device. Both the game and the handheld are expected to launch on 26 September. However, the handheld does not come with the game. We don’t have any local pricing or information at this time. We will share details soon.

When it comes to The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the game stars Princess Zelda who finally gets to save Link for a change. It follows the familiar chibi art style from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Players will navigate and fight through a somewhat different world in Echoes of Wisdom according to Nintendo. Zelda wields a magical staff called the Tri Rod and is assisted by a fairy named Tri. Zelda can use this rod to recall echoes of objects and place them in certain places to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles.
