The Doritos Crunch Cup will take place across all four days at Comic Con Africa in the Doritos Crunch Zone. It will be a series of free-to-play tournaments that anyone can enter. Four games will be playable across the event’s days: Fortnite on Thursday, Tekken 7 on Friday, Street Fighter V on Saturday and FIFA 21 on Sunday. Entrants will stand a chance to win R4000 each day with an additional R1000 to be won if they manage to beat the pros.
Registration for the Doritos Crunch Cup takes place in the Free Play Zone every day from 09:00 to 10:30 daily. Spots are limited to 96 per day, so make sure you get there early to avoid disappointment.
The South African National Final of the Red Bull Campus Clutch will take place at Comic Con Africa 2022 this year. Students from over 50 countries would’ve competed in this year’s Campus Clutch, with the winner being selected to go to the Red Bull Campus Clutch World Final taking place in Brazil in December. If you want to catch some exciting Valorant action – or are a student and want to compete with your own team – don’t miss out on this opportunity in the Gaming Hall this year.
Nintendo will also be present at Comic Con Africa this year, with each day featuring one “game of the day.” Friday fans can participate in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, on Saturday there will be Pokemon Sword and Shield, and Sunday’s featured game will be Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. You can stand a chance to win Nintendo store vouchers and compete in some awesome competitions where you can win Nintendo equipment and more.
The Gaming Hall experience doesn’t end there, however, as RGB Gaming will be showing us how eSports is taught in primary schools. They will be hosting a Minecraft tournament where 16 schools, 64 players and 1600 students are expected to be in attendance. Find them in the KidsCon Hall.
There will be plenty of Free-to-Play Zones where attendees, regardless of age or skill level, can play for free on some provided gaming equipment. Of course, you’ll also be able to find plenty of exhibitors, each running incredible specials. If you’re looking for the latest equipment, games and more, look no further.
