The upcoming game A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, based on the popular horror movie franchise, will have a mic detection feature that alerts aliens with your noises in real-life. Of course, this is a feature that you can also toggle off but for the sake of extra immersion, Saber Interactive and Stormind Games are going the extra mile to make sure the game is as authentic to the movies as possible.
Saber Interactive released a new live-action promo trailer that showcases the mic detection feature in A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead. This can be toggled on or off since it’s just an option, though if you choose to play with this feature on, any slight noise from yourself or your room will alert the aliens to your presence, leading to a swift death. It’s an inventive idea that fits well with the gimmick of the horror movies.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is based on the horror movies directed by John Krasinski, though it isn’t a direct adaptation of those stories. Instead, it takes inspiration from the movies and casts its own characters with an original story. The designs for the aliens are true to the source material as well.
The official description for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead reads:
“A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single-player horror adventure game inspired by the critically acclaimed blockbuster movie franchise that highlights a unique survivor story after an invasion of deadly creatures. In this exclusive spin-off, experience the journey of a young woman who must endure a treacherous apocalypse in the midst of interpersonal family conflicts, all while coming to terms with her own inner fears.”
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead launches on 17 October 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Watch the live-action trailer below showing the mic detection feature in action:
