Back in 2014, New N’ Tasty from Just Add Water remastered the classic Abe’s Odyssey for modern hardware and the game was a massive hit. The experience took us back to Rupture Farms to save your fellow Mudoken slaves from being turned into food.
Just Add Water announced in 2017 that they began working on a sequel to the remake that would follow the story of the original sequel, Abe’s Exoddus. The game has finally been officially revealed at GDC 2019 during Unity’s Keynote Presentation.

The reveal trailer does not show much off in terms of the gameplay for the upcoming remake but it does enough to get us excited for the sequel. The game will be a direct remake from the ground up of Abe’s Exoddus while adding in new secret locations and more Mudoken to save from a perilous death.
Oddworld: Soulstorm takes place right after the events of the first game after Abe destroys and escaped Rupture Farms. As he and his friends are returning home, they get stranded in a desert and find themselves addicted to this new drink called “Soulstorm Brew”. It tastes so good because it is made from the bones of his people and after realizing abe sets off on a journey to discover his ancestors and put a stop to all creation of the Soulstorm Brew.
Oddworld: Soulstorm is without a release date as of yet, but hopefully we can expect it to release by the end of 2019. If the past title is anything to go on, expect it to release on PS4, Xbox One, PC and perhaps Switch.
