Some NBA players have already seen the new Call of Duty game. According to leaked photos, Activision hosted a special Call of Duty 2023 event for NBA players during the recent Summer League in Las Vegas. While reports claimed that the NBA players were able to play the game, it turned out that the playable content was actually from Warzone 2.0 and the COD 2023 portion was a scripted gameplay demo.
The leaked photos also showcase the new Call of Duty 2023 logo. Activision plans on rolling the new rebranded logo out with this year’s game. The logo features a sharper text design with no rounded corners.

As for what the demo included, no one knows yet. Well, only the NBA players at this point. We do know that Call of Duty 2023 is supposedly a follow-up to Modern Warfare 2. The game was originally meant to be an expansion to Modern Warfare 2 but was then turned into its own standalone game.

According to reports, Call of Duty 2023 will carry over maps and modes from Modern Warfare 2. Other reports claim that Activision has yet to decide what existing content will get released in the new COD 2023 game.
It is already July which means the Call of Duty 2023 reveal is just around the corner. While Activision used to announce new COD games in June, since the COVID-19 pandemic, the publisher has shifted its focus to an August/September announcement window instead. The franchise then targets a November launch window.
It was recently revealed that even though Call of Duty is an annual release, it still makes a load of money for Activision. Much of this money comes from Sony who contributed $800 million of the $1.2 billion in 2021.
