The good news is that if you don’t want to use a controller to play Age of Empires IV, you can also just plug a mouse and keyboard in and use that instead. The game will tweak the user interface depending on the device you choose to use.
Age of Empires IV originally launched back in 2021 and was meant to release soon after for the Xbox platform. However, delays resulted in longer development times. Thankfully, you don’t have to wait any longer.
You can boot up your Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S today and download the game. When it comes to performance, Age of Empires IV targets up to 4K on the Xbox Series X, 1080p on the Xbox Series S, 1440p on the Xbox One X and 900p on the Xbox One. Both current-gen Xbox consoles target 60FPS while the Xbox One family targets 30FPS.
