The PS5 download size and preload date for Alan Wake 2, the upcoming survival horror game from Remedy Entertainment, has been revealed. Players will need to free up a sizeable amount of space if they want to download the game. Best of all, preloads can begin as soon as tomorrow – a couple of days before release.
As revealed by the reliable PlayStation Game Size Twitter/X account, Alan Wake 2 will take up 79.775 GB. This is specifically version 1.000.001 of the game, though it could change with potential day-one or week-one updates. The game officially launches on 27 October but players begin preloading tomorrow, 25 October at midnight ET or 6 AM CAT for South Africans. Keep in mind that Alan Wake 2 will not have a physical release on launch, meaning it will only be available digitally.
The official story description of Alan Wake 2 reads:
“A string of ritualistic murders threatens Bright Falls, a small-town community surrounded by Pacific Northwest wilderness. Saga Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent with a reputation for solving impossible cases arrives to investigate the murders. Anderson’s case spirals into a nightmare when she discovers pages of a horror story that starts to come true around her. Alan Wake, a lost writer trapped in a nightmare beyond our world, writes a dark story in an attempt to shape the reality around him and escape his prison. With a dark horror hunting him, Wake is trying to retain his sanity and beat the devil at his own game.”
Remedy Entertainment previously revealed the trophy and achievement list for Alan Wake 2, which you can read more about right here.
