The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Alfonso Ribeiro is suing Epic Games for, you guessed it, stealing his dance. The dance, commonly known as the Carlton dance, was put into Fortnite a while back under the “Fresh” emote. TMZ reports that Ribeiro is in the process of filing to copyright the dance.

But it does not end there. Terrance Ferguson accused Epic Games of stealing his Milly Rock dance for Fortnite’s “Swipe It” emote. Terrence is rather upset about the whole ordeal stating that all Epic Games is just “exploiting African-American talent in particular in Fortnite by copying their dances and movements.”

“Epic has earned record profits off of downloadable content in the game, including emotes like “Fresh.” Yet Epic has failed to compensate or even ask permission from Mr. Ribeiro for the use of his likeness and iconic intellectual property.”

Epic Games has been fighting lawsuits about dances for a while now and these two are just another to add to the collection. Artists and choreographers want a cut of Epic Games’ earnings when they use these dances but it is not as simple as it sounds. The biggest challenge with these lawsuits is proving that the plaintiffs actually own the dance.

On Epic Games’ side, they are currently in court with a QA tester who leaked Fortnite Season 4 secrets as well as a few streamers that advertised Fortnite cheats during streams. It just seems like Fortnite attracts legal fees.
