Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Aliens: Fireteam Elite Gets Release Date and Pre-Order Details

Once known as Aliens: Fireteam, 20th Century Fox Games has renamed the upcoming co-op shooter to Aliens: Fireteam Elite (for some reason). Along with the rename, the game now has a release date of 24 August 2021. It is set to launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC. There’s also a load of pre-order goodies up for grabs for those who get their purchases done early.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite boasts four story-driven campaigns at launch. Players take on the role of Colonial Marines as they enter these missions and fight against the waves of crazy killer Aliens that hunt them down. The game includes most of the classic Alien Xenomorph designs alongside other notable creatures from the series.

If you opt for the Deluxe Edition of Aliens: Fireteam Elite, you can pick up four cosmetic bundles with the game. Some of these cosmetics include class kit skins, weapon colours and head accessories. There’s also an Endeavor Veteran Pack that includes even more cosmetics and is also included in the Deluxe Edition. However, with all these cosmetics available in Aliens: Fireteam Elite, 20th Century Games promises free gameplay updates in the future.

Lastly, all pre-order customers also get a Hardened Marine Pack that includes cosmetics such as the Chestburster emote and a bandana. So you can live your Facehugger fantasy.

It is unclear yet if the game will receive new story content and chapters. It is most likely to get new chapter based purchasable content similar to the likes of World War Z. Given that the game is focused on online co-op play, the developers definitely want to keep it alive for as long as possible. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is one of many co-op shooters coming our way. If you like this sort of game, then check out Back 4 Blood that also boasts the same co-op horde action.
