Season 2 of the live-action Fallout TV series from Amazon has wrapped production, though it still doesn’t have a release date yet. The series enjoyed plenty of success after its first season received good reviews across the board from fans and critics, while the games saw an influx of returning and new players in the wake of its popularity.
Actress Ella Purnell, who plays protagonist Lucy MacLean in the Fallout series, recently uploaded a photo to Instagram with her and co-star Kyle MacLachlan confirming that season 2 has wrapped production. The second season of Prime Video’s TV show will also see the return of Walton Goggins as The Ghoul and Aaron Moten as Maximus. Meanwhile, Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin has also joined the cast, though it’s unclear which character he will be portraying.
There will be spoilers ahead for the ending of the season 1, so you have been warned. The finale of Fallout‘s first season saw Hank MacLean go on the run from his daughter and The Ghoul after being outed as a perpetrator behind some devastating events. Hank seeks refuge in a familiar location, New Vegas, as Lucy and The Ghoul are hot on his trail.
The second season will likely take place in New Vegas, a location players visited during Obsidian Entertainment’s acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas. It’s an exciting setting to revisit in live-action form and it will be interesting to see what has changed after all these years. Hopefully, it will also confirm some events and decisions as canon from the game, though we’ll have to wait and see how it’s handled.
The description of the Fallout TV show reads:
“Years after a nuclear apocalypse devastates America, a violent raid by bandits on an underground fallout shelter forces one of its residents to set out into a barren wasteland filled with radiation, mutated monsters, and a lawless society of those who remained on the surface.”
Fallout season 2 will launch on Prime Video but it doesn’t have a release date yet.
