Animal Crossing: New Horizons gameplay has officially been shown during the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct. However, there is some sad news that comes with the reveal. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until March 2020, thanks to a delay.

That being said, we will have a lot to look forward to. Animal Crossing: New Horizons looks beautiful, improving upon the visuals set by the previous games on Nintendo 3DS.
The game seems to send players on a Nook Inc. Deserted Island Holiday Package. In the trailer, we see our hero sprinting around the island, collection materials and crafting tools. Well, a “flimsy axe”.
The ending of the trailer seems to have multiple player characters in the same island. Visiting other towns has become a central part of what makes Animal Crossing so loved, though it seems to have been improved upon in the latest game. If Nintendo truly is teasing large group gatherings, this will be a big step for Animal Crossing.
According to the Nintendo Direct, the latest Animal Crossing has been delayed “to ensure the game is the best it can be,” said Nintendo’s deputy general manager Yoshiaki Koizumi. That being said, we won’t have to wait too long for these improvements to be implemented.

While many fans are probably saddened by the delay, it’s probably for the best that Nintendo ensures the game comes out in its best form. That is something that is very rare these days, and it’s nice to see that Nintendo is being honest with the fans.
