Developer Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts have been teasing Crypto, presumably the next Apex Legends character, for a very long time now. As Season 2 is coming to an end on 1 October 2019, more and more Apex Legends Crypto teases have started to appear. Recently, Crypto seems to have gained access to the banners in the game and now, the character has been spotted in-game.

Reddit user Mirage spotted the next Apex Legends character, Crypto, in the game and posted a video for all to see. Crypto was spotted behind glass inaccessible to the player, typing away on a terminal, alongside his drone. When spotted by the player, he ran away and disappeared. Interestingly, on the screen that the character has hacked, you can see something called the “World’s Edge” which apparently looks a lot like the Titanfall space elevator.
Check out the video of Apex Legends Crypto being spotted in the game below.
Keep in mind that Crypto might not be the correct name for the next legend, as the name was only found in the game’s files. A Respawn Entertainment developer even responded to the thread in which the video was shown, simply stating “Who?” pointing towards Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment possibly having another name in mind for the upcoming character.
We will have to wait and see until Season 3 to be sure. At the time of writing, no release date for Season 3 has been revealed, but it should start shortly after the end of Season 2 on 1 October 2019.
