Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ Release Date, Details and Pricing Revealed

During its annual September event, Apple fully detailed the new Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ services. Arcade will come with over 100 exclusive games made just for the service. Users can download and play any game they want with an active subscription.

Apple revealed how users will access the Arcade through the App Store. The Arcade page will showcase the latest titles as well as trailers, screenshots and details on the games.

The company showed off some of the upcoming titles starting off with Frogger in Toyland a spiritual successor to the classic Frogger game. The game is being developed by Konami and will join the service along with many others. Another game shown off was from Capcom and followed an underwater diving action-adventure where players will search the depths below for treasure while fighting deadly creatures.

The company revealed the gaming service will be going live across supported devices on 19 September 2019 across 150 countries and will cost $4,99 for the whole family. The service will also release with a one-month free trial. The below image shows off the developers behind the games releasing on the service.

As for the Apple TV+ streaming service, the company showed off the first trailer for its new show starring Jason Momoa called “See”. It follows the story of a world where everyone has gone blind but suddenly children are born with sight. The show is one of the most expensive productions in the Apple TV+ streaming service costing around $15 million per episode.

The company revealed the first shows coming to the service will be available from 1 November 2019 and will cost $4,99 per month for a family plan. It was also revealed that anyone who purchases a Macbook, iPhone, iPad or Apple TV starting today will get a full 1-year subscription for free. The company will also offer a seven-day trial for the streaming service.

Both the gaming and streaming service will not offer standard subscriptions. The $4,99 price tag is the only option and can be used for up to five members in your Family plan. You can find out more on the official arcade site and TV+ site.
