Apple has released its new Invites app, and it does exactly what it says. Users can create neat-looking invitations, send them to friends, and keep track of all the technical aspects of the event without ever following up on the guests.
The Invites app is fully integrated into the Apple ecosystem. When creating an invite, users can take advantage of Apple Intelligence on select devices to generate artwork using the Image Playground tools. You can then add photos to the invitation using your Photo Album, music through Apple Music, and link the event to your Calendar app.
Once you have created your invite, you can send links to everyone regardless of them being on an Apple device. This link will either instruct them to download and open the Invites app or make use of an iCloud web version of the app called iCloud Invites.
Invited guests can then RSVP, and the decisions will track on the invite link. Users can also see who is invited and who will be attending the event. Everyone will also gain access to the location of the event and get a glimpse at the expected weather on the day. All the viewable information can be changed by the host.
Most important of all is the ability to add a Host Note to the event. Here, you’ll be able to add links to a Zoom call, dietary requirements, and other useful information.
You can download the Apple Invites app on iOS here. It requires iOS 18 and up. Of course, if you don’t have an Apple Intelligence device, the only limitation is the lack of a background creation tool. However, you can then use other means to create the background image such as using a photo.
