During its 2019 WWDC conference, Apple officially announced iOS 13 among many other things. iOS 13 is a massive jump for Apple’s mobile operating system with some big changes.
iOS 13 also comes with a massive list of changes from redesigns in the photo app to a brand new swipe keyboard. Check out all the biggest changes to iOS 13 below.
iOS 13 Key Features
Improved Performance
Apple claims iOS 13 will increase performance above and beyond last year’s iOS 12 release, especially for older devices. The company claims that even Face ID will unlock 30 percent faster. and apps will launch twice as fast in iOS 13.
Dark Mode
iOS 13’s biggest feature is its new Dark Mode which changes most of the UI experience to deliver a darker visual representation. Dark Mode is a system-wide experience that stretches from the home screen all the way to the Music App.

Reminders App
Apple will be revamping the Reminders app. New features such as a “Today”, “Scheduled”, “Flagged” and “All” options will help you sort your reminders in the app. The UI is also completely different. Apple claims that machine learning will go into creating these new reminders and the app will suggest when you would like to be reminded while you create them.
Memoji Accessories and Stickers
You will now be able to accessorize your Memoji with makeup, braces, earrings and even put in AirPods. Everyone will also gain access to new Memoji stickers which can be used across all iOS 12 devices without the need for Face ID to create a Memoji. These stickers can be used across iOS devices and apps.
New Video Effects and Photo App
Apple has added a video editor into the photo app in iOS 13 which means you can now edit videos (yes, rotate them too), add filters and adjust finer details of it all without the need for a third-party app. The Photo app will also be revamped with new memories features as well as a declutter feature for multiple shots. This will be powered by machine learning to help declutter your photo library.

Sign-in With Apple
You will be able to log into apps and sites without the need to use Facebook and Google in iOS 13. The “sign-in” with Apple feature will let you sign in without sending over your email address to the developer or advert you are trying to access. iOS 13 will automatically create a random email address that will be used to sign in so you don’t have to share information you don’t want to.

iOS 13 is currently available for developers only via a beta. Apple plans on releasing a public beta in the coming weeks. If you would like to take part in this beta you will need to sign up for a developer account and restore your iOS device to the iOS 13 beta software.
