Apple March Event

Apple is Expected to Skip its Usual March Event This Year

Apple is reportedly going to skip its usual Spring Event this year. This would be the second year in a row that the company hasn’t hosted a March event. While many believe that Apple has now ditched the March event completely as an annual showcase, it is surprising given how many products the company is expected to announce in the coming months.

Apple has reportedly been working on a revamped iPad Pro with an OLED display and an M3 chip. It was rumoured to be announced during the “next event”. Apple hasn’t changed the iPad Pro since back in 2018 when it refreshed the range with Face ID and thinner bezels.

Alongside the new iPad Pro, reports claim that the company is working on a new Apple Pencil. The new model will feature built-in Find My and interchangeable magnetic tips that users can swap out for different kinds of art.

A new Magic Keyboard is also reportedly set to be unveiled alongside these new products. It is made from aluminium and essentially turns the iPad into a notebook-like hybrid.

Apple is also expected to announce some other M3 devices including new M3 MacBook Airs. These devices are reported to include the same design with minor internal changes.

While this list of unannounced products seems like a long one, I don’t think it warrants Apple spending money on a large-scale showcase event. Especially if these new products don’t have any major external changes. Perhaps the iPad Pro needs some of its own private light but the rest won’t draw a crowd.

If Apple doesn’t do its March event, which is likely the case, the next big event from the company will be during the World Wide Developer Showcase in June. Apple is expected to debut its AI-driven software features for iOS and macOS. iOS 18, in particular, will have the biggest overhaul as the company invests in generative AI.
