Apple Prepares “Glassy” Design Overhaul For All Operating Systems

Apple is gearing up to showcase a whole new design for all of its operating systems next month. Bloomberg reports that iOS 19, iPadOS 19, the new macOS, tvOS, and WatchOS will all debut new visual themes with a so-called “glassy” aesthetic.

The latest report comes from Mark Gurman, who says the new versions of Apple’s software are all taking heavy inspiration from visionOS. New rounded corners, glassy, translucent finishes, and layered system menus are just a few overhauls that Apple has made to the ecosystem.

The report says that watchOS and tvOS will also be getting some fancy design changes but only minimally in comparison to the other platforms. The biggest overhaul is likely going to be seen in iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 as the latest version of macOS already aligns with much of the design changes.

Apple is also reportedly going to unveil a whole new operating system next month called homeOS. This new software will power its supposed new home tech product, which is expected to be an iPad-like display that is installed into your house. This product links to your other home devices and integrates everything together.

We are not sure if the product itself will be debuted at WWDC 2025 next month, which has recently been dated and scheduled, but if Apple is showcasing anything software-related, it will likely take centre stage.

The company will also hopefully touch on the missing Apple Intelligence tools, which were announced at least a year’s WWDC and delayed due to internal issues related to Siri.
