Apple has announced a brand new iPad Pro range. While the iPad itself has not been drastically tweaked, other than the new camera system, the new keyboard adds a brand new depth to the iPad Pro turning it into a PC more than anything else. The new iPad Pro will come in 11-inch and 12.9-inch models and both will pack a new dual-camera system featuring a wide and ultra-wide camera lens. Both models will also come with a new LIDAR scanner for depth sending and AR.

The biggest news is the new iPad Pro floating keyboard that sees users magnetically attach their iPad to the keyboard as it floats in the air in front of them. The keyboard acts as both a cover, a typing set and also features a trackpad which has been completely reimagined for iPad. This Magic Keyboard matches the versatility of the iPad Pro perfectly it seems and has been designed from the ground up to offer multiple uses.

Apple did not share much when it came to the iPad Pro itself other than it packing a new A12Z Bionic Chip with eight cores in the GPU. The company claims it is “more powerful than most Windows PC laptops” and offers 10 hours of battery life.
As for the LIDAR lens on the camera system, this uses lasers for depth-sensing and augmented reality. It is unclear how this sensor will come in handy during your everyday use but by the look of things, it will greatly improve AR by fully mapping your environment around you.
Apple revealed that the new device will land in stores next week in the US (25 March 2020) with the new Magic Keyboard releasing in May. No local pricing and release date have been announced as of yet.
Apple is also expected to reveal a new Apple TV revision and a budget “iPhone 9” before the end this month. It could even happen today.
