Apple Still Doesn’t Have The AI-Powered Smarter Siri Ready

While many were hoping to see the big Siri updates announced during WWDC 25, that sadly didn’t happen. Apple is seemingly still struggling to get the assistant up and running with features the company announced back in 2024.

During the WWDC 25 keynote address, Apple didn’t announce any new Siri features, nor did the company touch on any of the pending Apple Assistant tools that were meant to launch with the iPhone 16 last year.

However, the company did comment on the situation. During the keynote, Apple’s SVP of software engineering said that the company is “continuing work to deliver features that make Siri even more personal. This work needed more time to reach our high-quality bar, and we look forward to sharing more about it in the coming year”.

If you can recall, Apple debuted a number of AI-powered tools last year during its WWDC keynote; however, even during the subsequent beta phase, they weren’t available. The company began a snail-paced rollout of the features, but the biggest feature, cross-app Siri integration, didn’t see the light of day.

Apple began removing references to this feature on its website and even pulled down YouTube videos with the tools being showcased. Reports claimed that the company was having a tough time getting these system-wide features running in the first place. Some deep insider reports claim that there are even internal management issues at Apple, which are adding to the problem.

WWDC 25 is happening now, and with the keynote done and dusted, alongside announcing a Liquid Glass new look for all the operating systems, Siri still remains as useless as it did last year. We don’t know when Apple expects to have the new Siri features ready, but reports claim they won’t arrive until next year.
