Marking the tenth Apple Watch revision, Apple has finally redesigned the Apple Watch Series 10. The watch has the biggest display and the thinnest design out of all previous models. Apple has slimmed down the body of the Watch Series 10 and also increased the display size. The company says the display is even larger than the Apple Watch Ultra.
The display on the Watch Series 10 is a wide-angle OLED. Apple says this new panel allows the display to be viewable from all directions while offering 40% increased brightness when viewing the watch from the side.
Apple Watch Series 10 Polished Titanium in Gold
The body is 10% slimmer than the Watch Series 9. It features a new metal back with a larger charging coil. Apple says this coil can charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes. The company claims the interior has been slimmed down too and the combination of the metal delivers a lightweight product.
The Apple Watch Series 10 includes the S10 SoC that powers the sensors, motion and user navigation. There’s also a set of dual speakers which Apple says provide loud and clear music and podcasts. In terms of new sensors, the Watch Series 10 includes a sleep apnea detection feature. It detects breathing disturbances while you sleep and provides feedback when sleep apnea occurs. There’s also a depth map and water temperature sensor on the Apple Watch Series 10. This will tie into sports and water activities.
The Apple Watch Series 10 comes in new colours including Jet Black, Rose Gold and Silver. All three models are aluminium. However, the Jet Black model features a shiny exterior. Looks similar to the iPhone 7 Jet Black model from back in the day. There’s also a polished titanium Apple Watch Series 10 that is replacing the sterling silver. It comes in Natural, Gold and Space Gray.
The Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399 and will launch on 20 September in the US.
