Last year, acclaimed developer From Software officially announced its next game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. It marks the long-awaited return of the high-octane mech series after over a decade of silence. According to leaked retailer listings, players won’t have to pay the premium $70 to play it. A report also claims that the game will launch before the newly revealed Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is currently available to pre-order from various retailers including Amazon and GameStop. According to the retail listings, the mech game will only cost $60 and not the increased $70 price tag that most publishers seem to be adopting now. Elden Ring also cost $60 at launch across all platforms.

A new report has surfaced from leaker eXtas1s, who previously leaked the existence of Kojima Productions’ unannounced horror game, Overdose. The leaker claims that Armored Core VI will release before Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and might be targeting a late 2023 launch in September or October.
This means that Shadow of the Erdtree will apparently launch after Armored Core VI and might release in November, December or sometime in early 2024. During its recent announcement, From Software mentioned that the expansion was still in development though didn’t state how far along it was. As with all rumours and reports, take this with a pinch of salt, though the leaker seems reputable.
In related news, From Software revealed new details about Armored Core VI last month including the game’s story, mech customisation, the core gameplay loop and more. The developer also reiterated that the sequel won’t be using the studio’s signature Soulsborne gameplay. The gameplay will instead stay true to the mech franchise’s roots of fast-paced action and extremely in-depth mech customisation.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is currently in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
