Ash’s Final Pokemon Episodes Will Feature Misty and Brock

Ash’s 25-year storyline in the Pokemon series will come to an end in February as fans bid their farewell to the iconic character. The Pokemon Company is writing Ash off in favour of a new direction for the anime featuring new lead characters. While our hearts are sore, 25 years is a long time to follow one protagonist on his Pokemon journey and the reboot might be the thing we need in the series.

You might want to get the tissues out because Ash’s final Pokemon episodes might get a little emotional. We now have confirmation that the 25-year story will come to an end with some old friends by Ash’s side too. Both Misty and Brock will appear in the anime.

According to The Pokemon Company, the penultimate episode, which is set to air on 20 February, will see Ash bump into Misty as the pair compete to catch a wild Clauncher.

The final episode, which airs on 27 February, will then see Ash and Pikachu reunite with both Brock and Misty as they try and save Brock who gets kidnapped by a wild Hatterene.

The Pokemon Company has also confirmed that both episodes will feature a remake of the classic opening theme from the 1997 anime.

Ash and Pikachu have appeared in almost 1,300 episodes of Pokemon over the 25-year run. The series debuted back in 1997 in Japan and in 1998 in the US.

Fans of the series suspected that The Pokemon Company would write Ash off after he finally achieved his goal of becoming the Pokemon League Champion earlier this year. This was a goal set out in almost every game in the series.

At the moment we don’t know when and where you’ll be able to watch these final episodes of Pokemon locally. However, if you do watch the show, chances are you have your own resources to stream it given how lacklustre the airing has been in SA over the past decade.
