Assassin’s Creed Mirage Might’ve Been Delayed Internally

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next entry in Ubisoft’s long-running franchise that’s scheduled to release sometime in 2023. A concrete release date has not yet been provided by Ubisoft, though previous reports suggested that it was aiming for an August launch. However, an update now claims that the game has been delayed internally by a few months.

According to a new update from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will no longer release in August as it was initially reported. Instead, Ubisoft internally moved the release window down to October. It’s worth noting that Ubisoft has not said anything publicly about the game’s release date yet and might have an official announcement planned for its upcoming June event. Take everything with a grain of salt for now.

If the game was internally delayed, no reason was stated for it. It’s possible that Ubisoft simply chose to move out of the August release window due to needing a bit more time in development or it could be avoiding another major August release that we aren’t aware of yet.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage was first announced during a dedicated Assassin’s Creed anniversary event last year which blew the lid open on several new upcoming projects in the franchise, including Ubisoft’s all-encompassing Assassin’s Creed Infinity live service initiative that will apparently house new titles like the Japan-based Assassin’s Creed Red and Assassin’s Creed Hexe.

In related news, known Ubisoft leaker ScriptLeaksR6 disappeared from their online activity after the company allegedly threatened them with lawsuits. The leaker was responsible for various Ubisoft leaks in the past including several to do with Rainbow Six Siege and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. They were the first to leak the existence of Assassin’s Creed Mirage as well and shared the game’s first artwork before its official unveiling.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is currently in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
