Ubisoft Forward September 2022 Assassin's Creed Mirage All Announcements Trailers

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Update Will Add New Game Plus and Permadeath

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be getting a free update in December that adds New Game Plus and Permadeath modes to the stealth-action game. Players will be able to toggle Permadeath on or off regardless of which difficulty they’re playing on, meaning you’ll only get one life in the game and if you die, you lose all your progress.

Ubisoft simply stated in a recent social media post that the next big Assassin’s Creed Mirage update was on its way, though didn’t give an exact date for when we can expect it. “We hear you: New Game + mode for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available in a free update this December,” said Ubisoft. “And for the expert Assassins, along with NG+ will come an optional permadeath mode also available across all difficulties!”

Since Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a far shorter experience than the recent mainline entries in the franchise, most players might’ve already finished the main story of the game and want new challenges to tackle. Fear not, because New Game Plus will certainly give fans that added challenge while the inclusion of Permadeath might ramp up the tension knowing failure will lead to an instant game over.

Mirage became Ubisoft’s biggest new-gen launch to date when it released last month and earned some favourable reviews (make sure you read our review).

In related news, new details seemingly leaked for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Red, the next mainline entry set in feudal Japan. This includes details about its gameplay inspired by Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring as well as how the map size compares to both Odyssey and Valhalla.

Ubisoft also announced that it laid off around 124 employees from its Canadian division which is believed to be Ubisoft Montreal.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
