Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed yet again, this time to 20 March 2025. According to Ubisoft, the delay aims to “incorporate player feedback” and “fully deliver on the potential of the game.” This follows a reassurance from Ubisoft that the company was confident there’d be no more delays after it was previously pushed out of 2024 to February 2025. Players will now have to wait another month to enjoy the open-world title.
In a recent statement on the matter, Ubisoft said that the additional development time on Assassin’s Creed Shadows would allow the team to “better incorporate the player feedback gathered over the past three months and help create the best conditions for launch by continuing to engage closely with the increasingly positive Assassin’s Creed community.”
Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot stated:
“We are all behind our teams’ efforts to create the most ambitious Assassin’s Creed opus of the franchise and made the decision to provide an extra month of development to Shadows in order to better incorporate the player feedback gathered over the past three months that will enable us to fully deliver on the potential of the game and finish the year on a strong note.”
Despite a mixed response from the series’ last major entry, 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which players felt was simply too long and bloated, Ubisoft is taking the necessary steps to reign in on the scope of Shadows while also maintaining the lite RPG elements of the franchise’s newer entries. Ubisoft previously confirmed that the map size for Shadows would roughly be the same size as Origins. There will also be romance options available for each of the two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows now launches on 20 March 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Make sure you read up on these incredible details that you might’ve missed.
