Ubisoft is set to announce the next instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series later today called Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In typical Ubisoft fashion, various details regarding the game have already leaked. These include the game’s post-launch roadmap, story details and more.
First up, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch with a Season Pass that plans to include two expansions. According to the leaked data from Ubisoft_Franx, the two expansions are larger downloadable content and will retail for $25 each. Gamers can, of course, buy the Season Pass for $50.
Ubisoft will also bundle the Season Pass into the pricier game versions so you can purchase the Ultimate Edition with it included.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also include a range of Helix Credits which users will use to purchase in-game cosmetic items and map packs. The Helix Credits will follow the typical Ubisoft pricing structure and start at $5 for 500 and go up to $50 for 6600.
The data mine also reveals that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will feature “Trinkets” earnable through the Ubisoft Connect feature. There will also be a trinket users can earn by watching the UbiForward event next month. One is detailed as an “hourglass code”.
Then we come to the gameplay leaks. The game’s leaked artwork confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will star Yasuke, a black samurai as one of the main characters. The other main character is a female shinobi named Naoe.
Yasuke’s story starts off as a slave on a ship which gets invaded. His family is killed but he survives the onslaught. He is then brought to Japan and learns to train in the way of the samurai while under the service of Oda Nobunaga.
Naoe, on the other hand, gets roped into the story after The Order kills her father. She sets off on a quest to avenge his death and joins the Shinobis.
All will be revealed later today when Assassin’s Creed Shadows gets its first trailer. We don’t know if Ubisoft will simply share a cinematic trailer today and leave the gameplay for its UbiForward event next month. You can tune into the reveal at 18:00 CAT on YouTube (or below). Assassin’s Creed Shadows is expected to launch on 15 November according to the leaked release date.
