Assassin’s Creed Shadows reviews have dropped, and so far, the general reception of the game has been incredibly positive. In my review, I praise the game’s remarkable world and its mix of stealth and action gameplay that creates a solid entry in the series.
It seems that many fans were waiting for reviews of the game to go live before taking the plunge and pre-ordering. Following the review embargo, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has moved to the top of the best-sellers list across all major gaming stores.
The game is now the third-best-selling title on Steam. This position has changed in the last 24 hours, where the game was ninth yesterday before reviews went live. On PS5, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now the fifth best-selling game on the PlayStation Store. The game also leads pre-order charts as the most pre-ordered game on the platform.
There’s a similar situation happening on Xbox, where Assassin’s Creed Shadows has overtaken Marvel Rivals and Split Fiction as the most popular game on the store.
There’s a lot riding on the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows as it marks Ubisoft’s biggest game launch since late 2024. The studio’s last game, Star Wars Outlaws, wasn’t all that well received and resulted in poor sales. However, it seems that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is going to be the one that we’ve been waiting for.
