Ubisoft has announced some record sales numbers for its recent release of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. According to the company, the game has managed to outsell all previous Assassin’s Creed games when comparing launch week sales.
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla released just a week ago and managed to surpass the likes of Odyssey, Origins and even Black Flag which just like Valhalla, is also a cross-gen game. In addition to the launch week numbers, Ubisoft says Valhalla has also become the top-selling Ubisoft PC launch ever and set a new record for the Ubisoft Store at the same time.
While the company did not share exact numbers of copies moved, they claim Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla had double the amount of players than Odyssey on launch day. This is an impressive feat given that PS5 is only launching in EU regions tomorrow and many gamers are waiting for the console to start playing the game. Ubisoft says;

Delivering this game amid a global pandemic was a true tour de force by our teams and it’s fantastic to see players enjoying the game so much. The launch is only the beginning and we have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla that will keep players immersed in their epic Viking saga for a long time to come.”[/perfectpullquote]
For those of you who are playing the game, Ubisoft has a range of content coming your way in the season pass. There’s also free missions and other added content arriving in the game soon. You can read all about it here. If you are on the fence about the game, don’t be. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is a phenomenal experience that never felt too big and ambitious for its own good. I highly recommend it and you can read my review here.
