Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gets Massive Free Content Update This Week

Ubisoft has shared a release date for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Siege of Paris expansion as well as detailed the latest free content update that is set to go live in the game this week. Players can not only participate in a brand new seasonal event but the update brings with it new level scaling, skills and more.

First off we have the upcoming expansion. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Siege of Paris is set to release on participating platforms on 12 August 2021. The expansion will take players to Francia, the largest post-Roman barbarian kingdom in Western Europe. Players can expect a new star-studded questline, new skills, gear and the return of Infiltration Missions.

Infiltration Missions were last seen on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and allowed players to plot their approach into an area when tasked with assassinating a target. Be it activating a piece of dialogue that leads to an opening in the building or causing a commotion that opens up the target for the kill. The missions offer a range of freedom to approach it the way you want.

If you can’t wait until 12 August to play Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Siege of Paris then starting from today, the game is getting some new content. Ubisoft is issuing a new update for the game that adds new abilities, one-handed swords, new gear and more game improvements.

The update is set to go live today, 27 July but the main attraction, the Sigrblot Festival, only kicks off on 29 July and lasts until 19 August. This means the festival overlaps the upcoming Siege of Paris expansion.

The Sigrblot Festival brings with it a focus on raiding with new maps and gear to obtain by participating in river raids. Players can also fight in tournaments and earn currency that is used to purchase limited-timed items.

Outside of the Sigrblot Festival, the update also adds the much-requested level scaling to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Now, players can choose from five options in the settings that not only scale the game’s difficulty to your level but also ups the challenge beyond that. This is something Valhalla has desperately needed.
