Best get those hiking boots on because Assassin’s Cred Valhalla will have a map that is bigger than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Originally, Ubisoft claimed the game would be smaller in order to address criticism from fans. However, that is no longer the case. Valhalla could be the biggest game in franchise history according to Ubisoft producer Julien Laferrière.

In an interview with Youtuber Julien Chieze, Laferrière said the map size of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is bigger than 2018’s Odyssey. Odyssey already featured the biggest map in the series with more than 90 square miles of ground. In addition, Valhalla will offer gamers “many hours of gameplay” according to Julien.

I do not have the exact figures at this stage, but we have not only created the whole country, which is in this case England, but also to a good part of Norway too.
There are other secret worlds, which I can not speak about today, which contributed to the size of the game. It’s not a small game, it is a game which is clearly ambitious, which will offer many many hours of gameplay for the players.”

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will let players explore the vast cities of London and York across England on a huge map. Ubisoft claims they have recreated the whole country. I don’t know about you, but I still have open-world fatigue from Odyssey. After completing the main game in time for review and then diving into all the DLC last year, I have clocked in over 200 hours of the game. Let’s hope Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has enough meat to keep things interesting in the world.
Ubisoft is said to be showing off actual gameplay from the game in July during its Ubisoft Forward event. The game is due to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC in late 2020.
