Atomic Heart won’t release in 2022 as originally planned. Up to now, developer Mundfish has teased a 2022 release window for its open-world shooter but they were yet to officially reveal an exact date. It seems that the studio wasn’t even ready to release the game this year in the first place and has now confirmed the game will only launch in “winter” which is between December and February. When in Winter? We have no idea.
In a statement by Mundfish CEO Robert Bagratuni, he claims that the development team need more time to get the game ready for launch. Bagratuni also confirmed that the studio has signed on with Focus Entertainment to publish the game around the world. Up to this point, Mundfish did not have a publisher to handle the release or marketing.

And now, when the stakes are as high as ever, we are finally ready to release the momentum we have been accumulating over these years. We couldn’t be happier to head to the release with such an experienced publisher, and we have no doubt that Focus Entertainment will make the upcoming game launch truly outstanding.
Atomic Heart is described as a “new generation experience” even though it is releasing on PS4 and Xbox One. Julien Ramette, Chief Business Development Officer at Focus Entertainment, added:
It’s an honor to collaborate with a studio as talented as Mundfish. We were amazed by Robert and his teams’ creative minds as soon as we started exchanging. The AAA standards they’ve provided for their first game is truly an accomplishment. Atomic Heart is sure to honor all players in search of an original, new generation experience.
The game was originally announced back in March of 2018 and has drawn the attention of millions of gamers around the world. We have covered it in quite a lot of detail including showcasing the game’s advanced engine features and ray-tracing, the sexy beautiful hands and even the most recent gameplay trailer that was full of action.
