Atomic Heart Trailer and Release Window Reveal Set for Today

Atomic Heart, the upcoming action-RPG shooter heavily inspired by BioShock and Metro, is set to receive a brand new trailer and release window later tonight at 9PM SAST. IGN recently made the announcement, confirming a countdown to the stream.

Atomic Heart from Russian developer Mundfish will receive a new trailer and an official release date window today. The last time we got an update on the game was back in August 2021, when the studio revealed that it was in the polishing and final assembly stage of development. Additionally, it’s also one of the games confirmed to launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Atomic Heart lifts inspiration from several games such as Metro, BioShock, Stalker and even Nier: Automata in its art style and gameplay. It was first unveiled in May 2018 but was only put back into the spotlight following a showcase at last year’s Xbox E3 showcase.

The game is set in an alternate reality Soviet era and features first-person combat with plenty of creepy and unsettling elements. There are killer robots, clown-themed torture chambers and more waiting to be explored by the player as they seemingly dive into a deeper conspiracy at large.

From the explosive and weirdly unique reveal trailer, players have been left confused but also intrigued by Atomic Heart‘s bold premise. While it might be some time until we get a new BioShock game, this will likely quench your thirst in the meantime.

Atomic Heart is set to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive the game on day one as soon as an official release date is confirmed. However, it looks like we’ll have to settle with a release window for now. The stream (below) is set to go live at 9PM SAST / 11AM PT.
