Atomic Heart Trophies are Broken on PlayStation

Atomic Heart launched yesterday to okay reviews, check our review here, with many criticising its technical shortcomings on consoles. PlayStation seems to have been hit the hardest with these bugs as many players are reporting that PS4 and PS5 trophies for the game are broken and refusing to track properly, despite a day one update that apparently patched a variety of issues.

As reported by PlayStation LifeStyle, the trophies for Atomic Heart aren’t working properly on PlayStation consoles. The site notes several key trophies that were either meant to be unlocked after completing activities but didn’t or some that have incorrect or vague descriptions. One trophy discussed is called Below Zero, which requires players to freeze a Vova enemy in mid-air. Several players attempted this only for the trophy to never unlock correctly.

Another trophy called The More Than Profit requires players to find all of Atomic Heart‘s Lootyagins, but it’s refusing to track progress at all. Additionally, the trackers for trophies like Burning Ears and The Necromancer have stopped working altogether.

This extends to some of Atomic Heart‘s oddly worded descriptions for trophies. The Explorer trophy requires players to “Find a testing ground”, but what it actually means is that players must find every single testing ground instead of just one. The Lord of War trophy asks players to find 12 weapons according to the description, but it actually wants you to find 14. There are a handful of inconsistencies like this in the game’s trophy list which are causing a lot of players and trophy hunters to become frustrated.

The day-one patch apparently fixes several known bugs in Atomic Heart including collectables that couldn’t be picked up, but the trophy list problems are still present in the game until another patch is released. The numerous technical issues were highlighted in several early reviews, especially on consoles, some of which have since been fixed. However, if you’re planning on hunting for trophies in Atomic Heart, we recommend holding off until further patchwork is done.

Atomic Heart is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
