Attack on Titan New Project Announcement 9 September

Attack on Titan is Getting a New Project Announcement Next Week

Attack on Titan will receive a new project announcement on 9 September to celebrate the manga’s 15th anniversary. The manga from Hajime Isayama concluded a few years ago while its popular, long-running anime adaptation ended earlier this year.

As reported by X account DiscussingFilm, Attack on Titan is set to receive a new project announcement next week on 9 September to celebrate the manga’s 15th anniversary. No details were mentioned about what this new project could be other than when viewers can expect it to happen, though fans have a few theories and ideas about what it might be.

One fan suggests that it could be a continuation of the series set in modern day, showing how titans have evolved in each era with different Founding Titans. The ending of the manga already teased events that have unfolded over the centuries – presumably wars against new generations of titans – so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to consider a potential sequel. Others believe it’s a less extravagant announcement that will likely be a one-shot manga to celebrate the show’s legacy (similar to Death Note).

WIT Studio, the Japanese animation company that worked on the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, are currently airing Suicide Squad Isekai, an anime adaptation of the popular DC anti-hero group. The studio will also animate the upcoming Netflix-original One Piece anime remake simply called The One Piece, which doesn’t have a release date yet.

The story synopsis for Attack on Titan reads:

“Humans are nearly exterminated by giant creatures called Titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a land protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans. Flash forward to the present, and mankind has not seen a titan in over 100 years. One day, 10 year old Eren and his childhood friend Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a colossal titan that appears out of thin air.”
