PlatinumGames have revealed that the demo for Babylon’s Fall will be coming to PlayStation on 25 February 2022. The demo will be available to all PS4 and PS5 owners, offering a chance to dive into the opening section of the game as well as test online co-op.
Babylon’s Fall from PlatinumGames will receive a PlayStation demo that provides “multiple hours of story content and limitless multiplayer to give players a significant head-start for strengthening their Sentinel.” Any progress made in the demo will then carry over into the full game when it releases on 3 March.
Square Enix also revealed that those who pick up the game early during it’s first season will receive the first Premium Battle Pass for free. Since Babylon’s Fall is essentially a live-service title, PlatinumGames promises that it “will continue to be supported with new game modes, ongoing story content, and additional weapon types at no additional cost.”
Babylon’s Fall marks a departure from PlatinumGames’ more story-focused, single-player outings from the past. Instead, the new RPG will focus heavily on live-service, though it will still retain the same excellent hack-and-slash combat and style that the acclaimed studio is known for.
Players will be able to tackle the game either solo or with up to four players in a co-op party. This will certainly make the grind a bit more manageable and exciting with friends.
Fans have been divided on Babylon’s Fall since its announcement. Many cited its oil painting art style as jarring (which has been tweaked since its reveal), but also a departure from PlatinumGames’ single-player titles which the studio had become known for, including Nier: Automata and Bayonetta.
It won’t be long until we can judge for ourselves when Babylon’s Fall launches on 3 March 2022 for PS4, PS5 and PC.
