Balatro, the award-winning roguelike deck-building poker card game, has added yet another list of collaborations to its already lengthy crossovers. In Balatro‘s case, this means themed cards based on a number of other games. This time, the Friends of Jimbo 3 update contains collaborations with Cult of the Lamb, Warframe, Shovel Knight and others.
A rather unhinged new trailer for Friends of Jimbo 3 features Final Fantasy XVI actor Ben Starr dressed as Jimbo the maniacal, meme-worthy joker, announcing all the new collaborations coming to Balatro. New themed decks will include unique art styles for the cards based on Shovel Knight, Warframe, Potion Craft, Cult of the Lamb, Enter the Gungeon, Divinity: Original Sin 2, 1000xResist, and Don’t Starve.
Past Friends of Jimbo packs included the following collaborations:
- The Witcher III: Wild Hunt
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Among Us
- The Binding of Isaac
- Vampire Survivors
- Slay the Spire
- Dave the Diver
- Stardew Valley
In total, there are now 16 different customisations to use in Balatro themed after all these games. Best of all, they’re all free updates. Friends of Jimbo 3 is available right now for players to try out and tune their ideal custom deck.
Balatro had a successful run at The Game Awards 2024 recently where it won Best Debut Indie Game, Best Independent Game and Best Mobile Game. It was also up for Best Game Direction and Game of the Year, though lost the big award of the night to Team Asobi’s Astro Bot. You can check out all the winners right here. The unsuspecting indie hit also proved to be a financial success, recently announcing that the game had sold 3.5 million copies across all platforms.
Balatro is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch and mobile. Watch the trailer for Friends of Jimbo 3 starring Ben Starr below:
