Say goodbye to all your other games on your phone and your daily productivity because Balatro is coming to mobile later this month. Developer LocalThunk announced that the popular roguelike poker game will hit iOS, Apple Arcade and Android on 26 September.
The announcement trailer confirms the game’s intention to take over the world and reduce the global productivity rate. Jimbo, who is the mascot of Balatro plans on making loads of money by ruining your life.
If you don’t know what Balatro is, the game is an overwhelmingly addictive roguelike deck builder where users play poker. They combine valid poker hands with unique Joker cards in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat devious blinds, all while uncovering hidden bonus hands and decks as you progress.
The game is meant to keep you coming back for more. Every card pick-up, discard and joker placement can drastically change the flow of the game. Building the best synergy with your hand is the goal and the game’s unique cards add endless variety to these mechanics.
Up to now, Balatro has been available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and Xbox. However, the game sort of seems like it was made for mobile. So this mobile release date is great news. LocalThunk announced plans for a mobile port earlier this year and we are just a few weeks away from playing it.
