Baldur’s Gate 3 Dev Reveals Everything Coming in Massive Patch 7

Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has outlined everything coming to the massive patch 7 in September including split-screen updates, a modding toolkit, new evil endings and a bunch of bug fixes for various characters. Most of all, Larian teased that this isn’t the end of the update plans for Baldur’s Gate 3.

Larian Studios went into detail regarding everything coming to Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 7 in September. First and foremost, split-screen will get a few neat updates such as the option to have two separate screens now merged into one screen so that players can occupy the same screen space when they’re near each other. When players split further apart, individual screens will appear again.

As for the modding toolkit, Larian Studios revealed that it’s currently hosting a closed alpha for players to sign up and test out the new features on PC. Sticking to its original word, mod support will also role out on other platforms including PlayStation and Xbox at a later date. Patch 7 will bring official mod support to the game, offering a host of mods curated by Larian Studios. The toolkit will give you everything you need to create new content for the game:

  • Items: Equipment like weapons and armours, consumables, and miscellaneous items.
  • Cosmetics: Including different hair, beards, and other textures.
  • Classes and Subclasses: Creating new variants or modifying existing ones to edit abilities, powers, and skills.
  • Races: These can be created and edited to determine overall appearance, as well as their individual powers and abilities.
  • Dice Skins: You’ll also have the ability to edit or redesign the appearance of your dice skins!
  • User Interface: Including extensions and restyling of the game UI.
  • Quality of Life Improvements: Such as mods that edit or improve gameplay that don’t rely on unsupported elements.

Patch 7 will also introduce some new evil endings for Baldur’s Gate 3 including one teased for the Dark Urge path. Finally, several bug fixes will be made to various characters in the game including kissing animations – Larian Studios has a great sense of humour about that.
