One of 2023’s biggest games is about to leave early access on Mac and launch in its full state on the platform. Larian Studios says the third major patch will be arriving on 21 September with “full support for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Mac.”
Baldur’s Gate 3 followed the same early access process on Mac as it did on PC. Up to now, the game doesn’t include all of its content. Larian Studios gradually added more features to it and plans on converting the game over to the final version on 21 September.

The launch is quite sudden but possible thanks to Mac’s digital-only ecosystem. This also means that Baldur’s Gate 3 has arrived on Mac before its Xbox launch. The game has been confirmed to launch this year on the system. This comes after Larian Studios struggled to get split-screen co-op working on the Xbox Series S. The studio came to an agreement with Microsoft to remove the feature on the Series S and keep it exclusive to the Series X.
The great news is that Baldur’s Gate 3 supports cross-save on all platforms. This includes the upcoming Mac version too. So you’ll be able to jump between PC, PS5 and Mac. Hopefully, that list will include Xbox soon.
