Developer Larian Studios recently added mod support to the console version of Baldur’s Gate 3, finally allowing PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players to dive into a handful of curated mods. However, PC players have been working tirelessly since the game’s launch to mod the game. More specifically, one modder is attempting to restore cut content in Baldur’s Gate 3. Their first course of action was to expand the opening Nautiloid section of the game which now includes access to the upper deck.
Modder DarthRen has released part one of their ongoing series of mods to restore cut content in Baldur’s Gate 3. This first part expands the Nautiloid in the opening of the game, giving players access to the upper deck. Interestingly, the upper deck section was explorable in the game’s early access build but it was cut from the final game, presumably to streamline the opening so that players don’t spend too much time on the ill-fated ship.
The modder isn’t stop there, though. Over on X, they revealed their plans to continue restoring a bunch of cut content from Baldur’s Gate 3. “I plan to restore more cut content both from Early Access and remaking stuff that was planned but was cut from the game,” they said. “I’m slowly working on the upper city of Baldur’s Gate and will eventually release that as well.”

It will be interesting to see what the modder restores regarding the Baldur’s Gate city section of the game and what was cut from the final product. As of writing, sadly, this mod is only available on Nexus Mods for PC. It may take a while for it to hit consoles, assuming the modder has plans to port it over.
