PC players who are interested in the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 game are in luck. Larian Studios has announced that if you purchase the Standard Edition of the game, you’ll automatically get upgraded to the Deluxe Edition at no extra charge.
The upgrade will entitle you to $20 of content. That’s the price difference between the two games. The Standard Edition costs R799 and the Deluxe Edition costs R999. However, keep in mind that the Deluxe Edition isn’t available for pre-order on Steam just yet. It will only be available when the game launches out of early access on 6 August.

So for the time being, the only way to purchase the game is through the early access bundle which will then automatically get upgraded to the Deluxe Edition at launch. If you don’t purchase the game early, then you won’t get the upgrade.
If you have already purchased the game, then you’ll also get an auto upgrade to the Deluxe Edition. This means if you have been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 during early access, you’ll jump into the Deluxe Edition on 6 August.
Sadly, this incentive doesn’t apply to PS5 owners. You’ll have to either purchase the Standard Edition for R1249 or the Deluxe Edition for R1429.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to launch on 3 August for PC and 2 September for PS5 owners if you get the 72-hour early access through the Deluxe Edition. Grab the Steam version for PC here.
