Larian Studios has revealed some interesting player stats for its award-winning RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3, including the most kissed companions, most popular Origin character and other figures. The studio provided the numbers almost a year after the original launch of the game, showing how far players have come since release and what choices they made along the way.
As for who the most kissed or romanced companion was, it should come as no surprise that Shadowheart is in the lead, being kissed over 27 million times. Astarion came second with 15 million kisses. The least kissed companion turned out to be Minthara with only 169,937 kisses. This is mainly due to how difficult it was for months to romance the Drow without resorting to some evil, genocidal acts. An update later made it possible to still romance Minthara without needing to doom plenty of innocent people, so that’s a plus.
Elsewhere in the provided stats for Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios also revealed that the most picked Origin character was Astarion, barely beating Gale and Shadowheart. However, 93% of players preferred to make an original Tav (protagonist), with around 15% of those players choosing the Dark Urge origins story. Unsurprisingly, the most picked class in the game was the Paladin followed by the Sorcerer and Fighter. Cleric ended up being the least-picked class.
It’s been a year since Baldur’s Gate 3 was released, and you know what we’ve realised?
Over a quarter of you can’t be trusted to not pick a fight with a djinni, and a surprising amount of you enjoy bear sex and tentacles.

The most picked race was Elf followed by Half-Elf and Human. Interestingly, the least-picked races were Dwarves, Gnomes and Halflings. Half-Orcs were more favourable to players than playing as a Githyanki, it seems.
Over on the kinkier side of things, 658,000 players decided to have sex with the Druid companion, Halsin. 70% did the deed in his human form, while 30% of players preferred him as a bear. Additionally, 1.1 million players ended up getting jiggy with the Emperor. 63% chose to keep him in his Guardian Form, while 37% were drawn to the mind flayer’s irresistible tentacles.
Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will arrive in September, introducing a bunch of improvements, fixes, tweaks and more content. You can read all the details right here.
