Barbie Movie Review Roundup

Barbie Movie Gets Digital Release Next Week

Those of you who missed out on the Barbie movie can watch it at home on your couch next week. The film was originally meant to drop digitally yesterday but was suddenly delayed to 12 September instead. Warner Bros. didn’t share any details as to why it was delayed. However, the company has scheduled more IMAX screenings in certain countries for later this month too so there’s no shortage of Barbie going around.

IMAX screenings will be available in certain parts of the world on 22 September. Be sure to check your local listings for details on those bookings.

As for the digital release of the Barbie movie, it is scheduled to launch on all major digital platforms on 12 September. This includes Amazon Prime, Google and Apple TV. The film will launch at 00:00 ET on 12 September so expect it to be available from 06:00 CAT in South Africa on the same day.

The Barbie movie did incredibly well during its box office run. It managed to rake in over $1.3 billion and is the biggest movie of 2023 to date. While other films might dethrone it, it doesn’t seem likely at this rate.

There isn’t currently any plan to launch the Barbie movie physically but Warner Bros. has confirmed it will join the HBO Max catalogue sometime in the future.
