Battlefield 2042 might not have a single-player campaign but the game is gettings its own short film called “Exodus”. EA Games and DICE announced that the standalone short film experience is set to premiere on 12 August 2021 over on YouTube.
According to data miners, the Battlefield 2042 Exodus short film is 9 minutes and 7 seconds long. In addition, it is a cinematic short mini-movie that details the events that ultimately lead up to the events that take place in the Battlefield 2042 game. So in a way, it acts as the game’s campaign.
So while players won’t be able to actually experience this prequel for themselves in the game, DICE and EA are using it as a means to explain the story so far. It makes sense and while we don’t know much about the film, we can’t wait to see how it all ties the events together.
If the teaser trailer is anything to go by, we are in for a rather flashy, action-packed movie.
The standalone short film Exodus premieres August 12, 8am PDT / 5pm CEST.
