Last night DICE rolled out a new update for Battlefield 2042 that aimed to fix some of the game’s biggest issues. They also included a handful of quality-of-life changes and updates such as UI tweaks, visual improvements and more. However, the latest Battlefield 2042 update also came with a nasty PC bug that prevents players from aiming properly.
The bug, which has been spotted by a number of players already, seems to prevent them from aiming horizontally. Meaning while they can run around the map, they can only aim up and down and not side to side. At the moment, this bug is specific to PC gamers and for a change, not affecting console players.

A few hours after the update went live, social media and Reddit exploded with reports of the aiming issues. DICE claims that a temporary fix is to reset your keyboard bindings in the settings. Players can also delete their Battlefield 2042 game folder in Documents to reset all the settings back to default.
DICE also says that a more advanced fix is to edit your profile data located in the same Documents folder. Users can find the (PROFSAVE_profile) file and open it with a text editor. Find the line “GstKeyBinding.infantry.ConceptYaw” and remove it. This also sets the game files to the default. You can see the glitch in action below:

DICE is hard at work fixing Battlefield 2042 but they are still far away from making the game half-decent. We recently reviewed the shooter and thought it was shallow and missing so many loved features from previous games. You can read our review here.
