Battlefield 6 To Feature Co-Op and as Much ‘Polished’ Content at Launch

Battlefield 6 is set to launch by the end of 2021. We know it may not be called “Battlefield 6” but we do know that EA Games is currently working on the next instalment in the series. A new report which apparently stems from an EA Vancouver developer has detailed some of the features players can expect to see in the game later this year.

For starters, the developer claims that Battlefield 6 could be one of the biggest entries in the series. In specific, the game has been designed from the ground up for high-end PCs and new gaming consoles. EA Games plans to release Battlefield 6 and support it for 4-5 years instead of working on a new game. He says that it is “this gen’s” Battlefield game.

The approach to Battlefield 6 is also slightly different to BFV. The developer says that they learnt their lessons from the failure/lacklustre reception of BFV and plan to release the upcoming shooter with as much content at launch. In addition, this content will be as polished as possible to avoid any post-launch issues.

When it comes to the game modes, Battlefield 6 will include a single-player mode that is playable in co-op. It has been designed for two players so users can either play it with a friend of an AI companion. The story for the campaign revolves around World War and AI/Drones/Mass Surveillance.

Battlefield 6

The Battlefield 6 multiplayer modes will see some drastic changes too. Some examples of this include no spawning vehicles like in Battlefield 1. Instead, players need to get them from the camp/spawn. Destruction is also returning however, players won’t be able to blow things up like in Bad Company 2. It is unclear how this system will work because the developer simply says it will “Still much better than clusterfuck in last games.”

Battlefield 6 will include a battle royale integrated into the main game at launch. It will also release as a free-to-play mode sometime in the future. It won’t include destruction.

The developer says that Battlefield 6 has been “downported” from PS5 and Xbox Series X to PS4 and Xbox One. He claims that it has been a “pain in the ass” to work on. While the old-gen versions of the game will run at an unlocked 60FPS, the machines will also limit visual quality, physics and much more in order to run it. At the moment, the game runs at 720p 60FPS on PS4 and Xbox One. It sometimes hits 900p.

Battlefield 6 Cross-Play

Battlefield 6 will include cross-play but only across the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S systems. Not PS4 and Xbox One. Gamers can use a keyboard and mouse on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and cross-play against and with PC players if they do so.

Keep in mind that this is a leak so take it with a massive grain of salt. Especially given that it is from 4Chan. It sounds quite authentic but you never know these days. Until EA Games shares any official information, be wary.
