Beat Saber Ditching Support on PS4 and PS5

The PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR2 versions of Beat Saber will non longer get no content according to Beat Games. The studio announced that new songs, DLC and other content will be released on Meta Quest and Steam but PlayStation devices are sadly missing out.

The reasoning behind this is unclear. Beat Games released a statement saying that the decision to no longer support Beat Saber on PS4 and PS5 has come into effect this month. In addition to no longer providing DLC, the game’s multiplayer servers will be going offline on 21 January 2026.

Players who have purchased DLC as of yesterday, 18 June, will still own the song packs and be able to play them. Beat Games will still make the current DLC available for purchase going forward but no new content will launch at all.

The studio says that technically, the last DLC ever released for Beat Saber on PS4 and PS5 is the surprise release of Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra on 5 June. That marks the official “last” piece of content in the game.

“As we look to the future and plan the next big leap for Beat Saber, we have made the decision to no longer release updates for PS4 and PS5 starting in June 2025. Our passion for VR remains unwavering. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and what we can bring to Beat Saber fans who have been on this journey with us over the past 7 years.”

If you want to get more music and future DLC, you’ll have to play Beat Saber on Meta Quest or PC. Thankfully, you can at least use the PS VR2 headset on PC, but I recommend getting a Meta Quest instead. The device’s all-in-one experience and pancake lenses make a world of difference. It is also untethered, making it the best VR headset for Beat Saber.
